OP&F “Charity Champions” present check to Cincinnati Fire Foundation

Through the charitable contributions from OP&F employees, a check was presented in February for $8,500 to the Cincinnati Fire Foundation. Trustee John Deal (Cincinnati Fire) represented OP&F at a board meeting of the Cincinnati Fire Foundation meeting to announce the gift.

Trustee election nomination date approaching

The next important date for this spring’s trustee elections is Monday, April 1. Signed Certificate of Eligibility and all nominating petitions must be filed at OP&F’s office no later than 4 p.m.

On May 6, ballots prepared by OP&F’s independent election administrator will be sent to the respective membership groups. On May 21, ballots must be received by OP&F’s independent election administrator no later than the close of business. On May 29, ballots will be counted, results certified and announced. The new terms for successful candidates begin on June 3.

OP&F members will elect an active police representative, an active fire representative and a retired police representative to the Board this spring. Currently, Tanya Czack (Parma Heights Police), John Deal (Cincinnati Fire) and Mark Drum (Delaware Police, retired) hold these positions. Each is eligible for re-election.

    DISABILITY: The Committee conducted its scheduled reviews and hearings.

    INVESTMENT: In addition to a review of the portfolio value and year-to-date performance, representatives from Blackstone Property Partners discussed market trends, the current real estate environment and their portfolio. Wilshire presented the Executive Summary of Investment Performance Report for periods ended December 31, 2023 as well as the Private Equity & Private Credit Program Analysis for periods ended September 30, 2023.

    Motions:

    At its March 2023 meeting, the OP&F Board of Trustees approved the following motions:

  • The Board approved Amended Proxy Voting Policies. Motion passed by unanimous vote (Investment Committee).
  • The Board approved Amended Investment Policy & Guidelines. Motion passed by unanimous vote (Investment Committee).
  • The Board approved staff and Wilshire’s investment manager rating recommendations for Barings, Bridgewater Global Macro & TIPS, Causeway, Grosvenor Flight Fund, Harvest, Westwood Group, Tortoise, PGIM, Loomis Sayles Core FI, Russell, Neuberger High Yield mandate as presented. Motion passed by unanimous vote (Investment Committee).
  • The Board approved Townsend’s recommendation to commit up to $75 million AEW Partners Real Estate Fund X. Motion passed by unanimous vote with one abstention (Investment Committee).
  • The Board approved Townsend’s recommendation to commit up to $75 million Oaktree Real Estate Opportunities Fund IX. Motion passed by unanimous vote (Investment Committee).
  • The Board approved staff and Aksia’s recommendation to commit up to $25 million to MC Credit Fund IV Levered. Motion passed by unanimous vote. (Investment Committee).
  • The Board approved the following from the Disability Committee. Motions passed by unanimous vote:
    • Approved 13 Initial Determinations of Disability.
    • Approved five Death Benefit Fund applications.
    • Approved the Disability Reporting Waivers list.
