COLUMBUS - Diane Lease, General Counsel for the Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund was recently selected to serve on the Executive Board of the National Association of Public Pension Attorneys (NAPPA). The outgoing Executive Board Members recommended Lease to serve on the Executive Board at the NAPPA's annual Legal Education Conference in St. Louis, Missouri, June 23-25.
A Governmental Member of NAPPA since 1998, Lease has served as the Investment Section Co-Chair of the organization for several years. Her acceptance of the Executive Board's selection marks the beginning of a three-year term, which began immediately following the conference.
NAPPA is a professional and educational organization consisting of attorneys who represent public pension funds. Its purpose is to provide educational opportunities and informational resources for its member attorneys. Lease will represent OP&F as one of nine Executive Board Members to NAPPA, whose membership consists of attorneys from 47 states, three territories, the District of Columbia and one Canadian province. Approximately 65 state pension systems are represented as well as 40 municipal pension systems.
Lease has served as OP&F's General Counsel since July 1998. She received her Juris Doctor (Cum Laude) from the University of Toledo College of Law, and her Bachelor of Science from Ball State University. She is active with the Columbus Rotary and Rotary District 6690.
Created in 1965 as a result of an act passed by the Ohio General Assembly, OP&F is a multi-employer pension fund serving more than 52,000 members. OP&F provides pension, disability, and survivor benefits to Ohio's full-time police officers and firefighters and their eligible beneficiaries and sponsors health care benefits for these benefit recipients.
