The Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund recently hosted the annual Project Blue Light ceremony at the Ohio Police and Fire Memorial Park. The event, organized by COPS (Concerns of Police Survivors), asks citizens and law enforcement agencies across the country to remember Ohio's fallen police officers and firefighters.

Over 150 individuals attended the ceremony including guest speaker, Ohio Attorney General Jim Petro, OP&F Executive Director William Estabrook and Fayette County Sheriff Vernon Stanforth. The Cincinnati Police Honor Guard also attended to present colors and the Columbus Pipe and Drum Corps was on hand.

The trees in the park were decorated with blue and red lights and were lit at the end of the ceremony and are to remain illuminated throughout the holiday season – symbolizing police officers and firefighters who have given the ultimate sacrifice. The blue lights also thank those men and women who continue to serve and protect their communities.
