Prescription drug formulary changes for 2007

Beginning Jan. 1, 2007, members who were enrolled in Option 2 or 3 of the 2006 OP&Fsponsored prescription drug coverage may see changes in copays due to the formulary associated with the coverage.

The OP&Fsponsored prescription drug coverage includes a list of prescription drugs, often called a formulary, that includes a wide selection of generic and brand name medications. This list of preferred drugs help to control rising prescription drug costs. The medications on the formulary have been selected by Medco by using an independent group of doctors and pharmacists, and are chosen for safety and effectiveness. Only Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved medications are included.

Medco, the pharmacy benefit manager for the OP&Fsponsored coverage, may remind your doctor when an approved medication is available in place of a medication that is not on your formulary. This may result in a change in your prescription. However, your doctor will always make the final decision on your medication.

If you would like further information, visit www.mecdo.com or call (800) 7537156 during the Annual Change Period.
