Elections Finalized for OP&F Board of Trustees

COLUMBUS, Ohio Elections for three positions on the Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund Board of Trustees have been finalized. William Gallagher (retired police, Cleveland), Ed Montgomery (active police, Columbus), and Lawrence G. Petrick, Jr. (active fire, Shaker Heights) were elected to serve four-year terms beginning on June 2, 2008. Montgomery was elected by active police voting, while Gallagher and Petrick both ran unopposed.

Gallagher, now serving in his fourth term on the OP&F Board of Trustees, is a retiree of the City of Cleveland Police Department. Gallagher has also served on other boards and committees, including the Fraternal Order of Police, the Credit Committee of the Cleveland Police Credit Union, and the National Constitution and By-Laws Committee. Currently the OP&F Board of Trustees Chair, Petrick has been a member of the OP&F Board since November 2003 and is a lieutenant with the Shaker Heights Fire Department. Montgomery, of the Columbus Division of Police, is the director of a task force of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies investigating mortgage fraud. Montgomery was originally appointed to the OP&F Board of Trustees in December 2007.

OP&Fs Board of Trustees consists of six elected members representing police officers and firefighters (two active police officers, two active firefighters, one retired police officer and one retired firefighter), as well as the Ohio Attorney General, the Ohio Auditor of State, and a fiscal officer of an Ohio municipal corporation appointed by the Governor.
