AUDIT AWARD PRESENTED TO OHIO POLICE & FIRE PENSION FUND
COLUMBUS, Ohio �For the second year in a row the Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund (OP&F) has received the �Making Your Tax Dollars Count� award for their fiscal Year 2007 audit, presented by Auditor of State Mary Taylor�s office. Fewer than five percent of all Ohio government agencies are eligible for this award that was accepted by OP&F Board of Trustees Chair Kathy Harrell.
�I am pleased to recognize the Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund for properly accounting for the tax dollars they spend,� said Taylor. �The community should be proud of their commitment to making sure that each tax dollar is spent appropriately.�
To receive the �Making Your Tax Dollars Count� award, certain criteria must be met that includes: � The entity must complete and submit a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). � There must be no findings or issues present in the audit report. � There must be no other financial concerns involving the entity.
�This award serves as additional validation that OP&F remains diligent in our financial and accounting practices,� said William J. Estabrook, OP&F Executive Director. �I am proud of the fact that we are among the few who have earned this recognition.�
About OP&F Created in 1965 as a result of an act passed by the Ohio General Assembly, OP&F is a multi-employer pension fund serving more than 53,000 members. OP&F provides pension, disability, and survivor benefits to Ohio�s full-time police officers and firefighters and their eligible beneficiaries and sponsors health care benefits for eligible benefit recipients.
