OP&F-Sponsored Health Care Plan

The Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund (OP&F) continues to sponsor health care benefits to eligible benefit recipients and their dependents according to the plan design and enrollment guidelines implemented on Jan. 1, 2004, as further amended. Adoption of this plan came as a result of a vote by the Board of Trustees to reaffirm their commitment to providing current and future retirees with quality health care and to develop a plan that would ensure the availability of some form of health care subsidy.

2011 Annual Change period Meetings

The 2011 Annual Change Period (ACP) is quickly approaching. ACP is the time of year when current participants in the OP&F health care plans can verify their personal information, apply for the health care discount, and enroll or waive the dental and vision plans.

This year OP&F will be offering free biometric screenings at the ACP meetings to all members and dependents enrolled in the 2010 OP&F sponsored health care coverage. These screenings will be mandatory for enrollment in the new Diabetes Program offered Jan. 1, 2011, offered to all UHC enrolled members and dependents. The biometric screenings are to be determined, but will most likely be blood glucose, blood pressure, body mass index, and/or cholesterol screenings.

More details on the diabetes program and the enrollment requirements will be mailed to all UHC benefit recipients in September. AARP members currently have an AARP diabetes related medical supply service provided as part of the AARP benefits. For more information, please call the telephone number on the back of either your UHC or AARP identification card.
